- What is the final cost of the trip? The final cost of the trip will range from $250.00 - $280.00. I need to know the number of participating students to get a FINAL cost. I plan to finalize cost by 1/19/24. COST includes registration, "some" meals (see below), and the hotel. Students traveling with parents will get a fee scale that will NOT include the hotel fee.
- Does my child need addition money for food and spending? Yes, your child will need additional money for spending and food. We have planned meals provided for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday nights only. TSA will provide lunch on Thursday. The hotel provides breakfast. Your child will need money for ALL OTHER meals and whatever they plan to buy. Please discuss money allocations with your child. In the past we have had students to spend all of their food money on merchandise.
- What time are they leaving on Wednesday? Will they be missing any classes? We leave during school on Wednesday. They will miss classes on Thursday and Friday. Teachers will be informed, via school email, prior to the absences.
- How are they getting to the event? ( school bus, charter bus, private car?) We will travel via charter bus along with participating schools in our zone (Dunwoody HS, Sequoyah MS, etc.)
- What time are they returning on Saturday, and where will they be dropped off? The Saturday Awards program tends to last a long time. Please be near your phone on Saturday morning. Students will call and give a E.T.A. once the bus leaves Athens. We anticipate being back at PCMS round 2:00-3:00PM!
- Where will we stay? Who will be in each room? We will all stay at the Hampton Inn on Broad Street in Athens. Our students will room together by gender. Please keep values/money on person. Students should not bring unnecessary electronic devices or other gadgets.
- Where will my child store his/her luggage prior to leaving for Athens? BRING ALL LUGGAGE AND SUPPLIES ON WEDNESDAYDAY MORNING and they will be securely stored in the tech lab office.
